About the role
- You proactively acquire new customers from the machinery and plant engineering sectors and convince them of our smart software solutions for production optimization.
- You independently manage the entire sales process – from situation and needs analysis, through presentations and workshops, to proposal preparation and contract negotiation.
- You identify what customers truly need, analyze complex challenges, and demonstrate how our solutions deliver real value – in terms of quality, deadlines, and cost-effectiveness.
- You work closely with our CRM system, maintain a reliable pipeline, and use forecasts as a planning tool rather than as mere estimates.
- You build long-term relationships – even through lengthy decision-making processes – and guide your contacts through the sales process with expertise and tact.
- You leverage trade shows and industry events in the mechanical engineering sector for networking and lead generation.
- You will be supported by Business Development with qualified leads that you will successfully convert into customers.
Requirements
- Completed degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Business Informatics, or a comparable qualification.
- 2–5 years of experience in consultative sales of complex software solutions, e.g., as a Sales Manager, Key Account Manager, or Customer Success Manager.
- Strong technical understanding, ideally with an IT background, and knowledge of ERP systems and production planning.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills and a confident manner – at both specialist and C-level.
- Experience with SaaS products and a good sense for commercial relationships and sales opportunities.
- Independent, systematic and structured way of working combined with genuine team spirit.
- Fluent German (at least C1) and very good spoken and written English.
- Willingness to travel occasionally within the DACH region.
