Full-stack Engineer

• Collaboration with physicists, opto-mechanical, mechanical, electrical and software engineers to lead the development of optical systems for quantum sensing and computing
• From source to atom: Lead and execute the process from requirements and design to assembly and test for optical systems spanning laser distribution, modulation, delivery and imaging.
• Work at the component level up through to large sub-systems containing hundreds of precisely aligned optical elements.
• Optimise, analyse and tolerance optical designs using computational methods.
• Use simulation tools to guide design decisions and communicate findings to project leaders both verbally and through design documentation.
• Lead the design review process for optical systems.
• Validate and characterise optical components and systems for performance, reliability, and stability by formulating and executing structured test plans.

• Own and maintain the integrated project plan, including milestones, schedules, dependencies, risks, actions, budgets, and deliverables.
• Partner with technical leads to align engineering plans with contractual and business requirements, translating them into clear actions, owners, deadlines, and completion criteria.
• Work with the technical team to identify critical paths and help deliver on time and on budget.
• Coordinate execution across technical, operations, supply chain, IT, facilities, finance, legal, commercial, vendor, and customer teams.
• Lead project communications and meetings, provide clear status reporting, follow up on commitments, and escalate issues as needed.
• Coordinate site readiness, procurement, equipment delivery, installation, commissioning, acceptance, and supporting documentation.
• Maintain traceability between requirements, project work, and evidence of completion.
• Identify process gaps and help drive practical improvements through resolution.

Project Manager, Quantum Computing Systems

General

• Design, build, calibrate and maintain Quantum Computers based on neutral atoms.
• Participate and/or lead Research and Development projects for laser systems, Quantum Processing Units, quantum gate protocols, etc. for Quantum Computers.
• Create, test, and validate mathematical models of atomic physics behavior, and use the results to inform system design by translating high-level system requirements into specialized engineering subsystems.
• Self-start and successfully execute on a new R&D activity given a well-defined goal and constraints (e.g. resources, timeframe): gather requirements from stakeholders, drive definition of solution space, drive project execution.
• Develop, test, run, and debug software for conducting experiments and system tuning in production.
• Design, assemble, and test laser and optical systems.
• Ownership of subsystems to maintain high availability and high performance.
• Mentor and teach junior team members as indirect reports. Supervise interns.
