About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Collaborate with physicists and electrical, software, and opto-mechanical engineering teams to deliver embedded system solutions for quantum applications
Develop testable, performant, and scalable RTL using SpinalHDL
Perform hands-on tuning and troubleshooting in laboratory and test bench environments
Architect processing chains with supporting analytical models to ensure critical design requirements are met
Apply modern software engineering practices, including revision control, CI pipelines, static analysis tools, and automated build pipelines
Participate in design, code, and data reviews

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or related field and a minimum of 8 years prior work experience
Expertise in industry standard hardware descriptive languages: Verilog, System Verilog, or VHDL
Comfort working in a Linux development environment
Experience with standard scripting languages: Python and bash
Good verbal and written communication skills
Good collaboration skills and ability to work in a team environment
Software engineering skills including testing, revision control (git), error-handling, readability, documentation, and general code health
Desire to constantly improve and learn inside and outside of expertise
Preferred: Expertise with AMD Xilinx programmable logic devices, especially Zynq Ultrascale+ MPSoC
Preferred: Experience developing RTL in Scala / SpinalHDL
Preferred: HDL development for RF waveform synthesis and processing, modern closed-loop control systems, image processing, or matrix arithmetic accelerators
Preferred: Familiarity with Embedded Linux OS distribution builds using nix, Yocto, or Buildroot
Preferred: Experience with compiled languages for Linux and baremetal targets, especially Rust
Preferred: Experience leading small technical teams or projects
