About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build trusted relationships with teams, leaders, and managers and translate business needs into practical people strategies
  • Coach managers on performance, development, team effectiveness, organizational changes, difficult conversations, and employee relations
  • Own and evolve company-wide performance management, including goal setting, review cycles, calibration, manager enablement, and ongoing practices
  • Partner on compensation strategy and own benchmarking, analysis, manager guidance, and compensation review cycles
  • Advise on organizational design, talent planning, employee development, retention, engagement, and workforce needs
  • Navigate complex employee relations and compliance matters with People leadership and legal counsel
  • Build and improve People programs, processes, systems, and tools
  • Use employee data, feedback, and business context to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Oversee employee immigration matters, cases, and timelines with employees, managers, and external counsel
  • Serve as deputy and thought partner to the People Lead
  • Advise senior leaders and managers on people and organizational decisions
  • Strengthen manager effectiveness through coaching, tools, and guidance
  • Help build a high-performance, high-trust culture

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10+ years of progressive People/HR experience, including significant experience as an HR Business Partner, People Business Partner, or in a comparable senior People role
  • Experience partnering directly with senior and executive leaders and earning credibility as a trusted advisor
  • Judgment and confidence to independently represent the People function with leaders
  • Experience coaching managers through complex, sensitive, and ambiguous people situations
  • Hands-on experience designing, managing, or meaningfully evolving company-wide performance management programs
  • Experience with compensation planning, market benchmarking, and compensation review cycles
  • Strong judgment balancing employee experience, business priorities, consistency, and risk
  • Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR best practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort using data
  • Ability to move between strategic thinking and hands-on execution
  • Experience in fast-changing environments
  • Builder mindset
  • Experience in a startup or high-growth technology company (nice to have)
  • Experience supporting technical, product, go-to-market, and/or operational teams (nice to have)
  • Experience with organizational design, workforce planning, talent reviews, or succession planning (nice to have)
