About the role
- Reviews, analyzes, and designs lab-based test networks for various small and large-scale militarized computer systems and systems of systems (SoS).
- Design may include specialized coding, instrumentation connectivity, API and data bridges.
- Maintains and develops online and batch application programs.
- Develops and implements a disaster recovery plan.
- Works with project members to develop system specifications, network/system diagrams and flowcharts as necessary.
- Has strong knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures for network testing and will adapt that knowledge to lab or controlled field based testing.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related area and 8 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
- Must have knowledge and understanding of computer systems, hardware and hardware interfaces, software code, peripheral interfaces, communications protocols.
- Must have knowledge and understanding of Microsoft and Linux operating systems.
- Must have: Network+, A+, Security+.
- Must be able to read and understand engineering documentation, technical specifications and product capability documentation as it relates to network and tactical military communications.
- Must be able to utilize product engineering and technical specifications to develop and instrument specialized lab-based communications networks.
- Must be able to self-manage with the ability to work in a team environment and/or lead cross functional teams as required.
- Must have demonstrated ability to work independently on tight schedules, and still provide high quality work.
- Advanced Oral and Written communication skills.
- Must be able to lead or work in a cross-functional team environment and interface with engineers in various disciplines.
