Facility Maintenance Technician
IndyGoFacility Maintenance Technician performing routine maintenance and repairs at IndyGo. Supporting facility operations to ensure safe and effective public transportation in Indianapolis.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Performs preventive maintenance in conjunction with all building maintenance and/or cleanliness-related items.
- Travel to different sites for service calls.
- Performs scheduled and nonscheduled repair, maintenance, and installation of machinery, tools, equipment, and/or associated equipment to ensure continuous and safe operation of the property.
- Directly or indirectly supports all exterior grounds activities, including grass cutting, dumping trash, landscaping, the parking lots, and other exterior area needs.
- Directly or indirectly supports the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC, electrical, plumbing systems and water distribution, and sewage facilities.
- Supports all sanitation processes and procedures, including rodent and pest control.
- Performs painting and small-scale structural repairs to masonry, woodwork, wallpaper and treatments, and furnishings of buildings.
- Reads and interprets blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals pertaining to facilities and equipment installed and serviced.
- Surveys work requirements, measures and calculates materials, labor, and systems requirements, prepares material lists, and carries out required tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
- Responds to emergency maintenance requests; troubleshoots issues to determine cause and solution.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Formal trade school or an associate degree in facility management, engineering program, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years experience in the maintenance trade, with strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and structural repairs required.
- A valid Indiana driver’s license is required.
