About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee all functions related to facility and grounds maintenance and upkeep.
- Oversee maintenance of building systems, including but not limited to: heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), wash racks and fuel lanes, fueling systems, tanks, lubrication systems, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Coordinate on-call coverage for facilities and properties during emergencies (e.g., water or gas leak repairs, snow removal).
- Oversee the work order process, including prioritizing work and establishing work schedules.
- Adhere to preventative maintenance programs for facility systems and equipment, updating schedules as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations regarding facility maintenance, repairs, and upgrades, including requirements of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and local regulatory agencies.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Formal trade school training or an associate degree in facility management, engineering, construction technology, or a related field is preferred.
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in building or facilities maintenance is required.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered.
- General knowledge of methods and techniques of facility and building maintenance.
- General knowledge of engineering concepts, construction drawings, blueprints, landscaping techniques, drainage systems, and site preparation.
- Working knowledge of equipment, tools, and materials used in facility maintenance activities.
- Working knowledge of electrical, HVAC, hydraulics, pneumatics, and plumbing systems.
- Thorough knowledge of construction and project management principles, including scheduling and deadline management.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
