Work closely with the ELT and department leaders to translate business strategy into data requirements and be a strategic partner.
Lead design and implementation of a modern, scalable, and reliable data stack (currently leveraging Looker Pro, Snowflake, Redshift, Fivetran; define optimal setup).
Simplify, document, and share existing data transformations to unlock immediate BI improvements while building the future platform.
Architect strategy for company-wide data fluency and enable natural-language querying for instant, trusted answers.
Partner with and challenge engineering and data teams; dive into technical weeds to ensure architectural integrity and unblock teams.
Mentor and foster a culture of excellence within the data team; provide clear direction and support growth.
Lead organizational change to embed data in daily workflows and strategic planning; deliver quick wins and scale AI foundations.
Establish robust, secure scalable data ingestion (including PII) and create environments (data playground) for internal experimentation.
Requirements
8+ years in data leadership (data engineering, data platform, analytics), with at least 3 years managing high-performing teams.
Significant experience leading data platform, data engineering, or analytics teams with a clear track record of transforming data infrastructure from the ground up.
Proven experience building and scaling modern data stacks (Snowflake, Looker, Redshift, Fivetran, dbt, etc.).
Expert in modern data architecture (ELT/ETL, Warehousing, BI visualization, Data Governance, and emerging AI/ML tooling).
Experience shaping ambiguous challenges into a clear vision and an executable, prioritized roadmap.
Exceptional communicator and collaborator; able to earn trust across execs, engineers, and business stakeholders.
Comfortable diving into technical details and providing credible challenges to senior data engineers.
Low ego, high curiosity, fun to work with; relentless bias for action.
