About the role

  • CUSTOMS CLEARANCE OF RAW MATERIALS: Review and analysis of import documents with the customs broker, exporter and trading company to ensure release of raw materials (RM) within expected deadlines.
  • MARINE INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR IMPORTS: Submission of import documents to the insurer (proforma for provisional endorsement and invoice and B/L for final endorsement) to ensure insurance coverage for all shipments.
  • MANAGEMENT OF IMPORT COSTS: Preparation of cost spreadsheets per import process and registration of the process in the system; verification and posting of invoices in the system and cost spreadsheets; payment scheduling and financial control (sending invoices and confirming postings with Finance) to ensure accurate financial information and values.
  • MONITORING VESSEL TRANSIT TIMES: Tracking vessel arrival and berthing dates via line-up to provide timely information to the departments involved.
  • REPORTING: Preparation of reports extracted from the system or via Excel controls for departmental analysis.
  • MANAGEMENT AND CONTROL OF ARMY SEALS FOR CONTROLLED PRODUCTS (NITRATE): Monitoring available seal quantities with the customs broker, MIC (port representative), warehouses and the factory.
  • MANAGEMENT AND CONTROL OF ENVELOPES AND EMERGENCY SHEETS FOR CONTROLLED PRODUCTS (NITRATE): Monitoring quantities of envelopes and emergency sheets with MIC, and sending them as needed for nitrate shipments.
  • CONTROL FOR ISSUANCE OF LDIs (IMPORT LICENSES) FOR NITRATE: Monitoring purchases of nitrate (a controlled product), which require prior shipping authorization for loading at origin.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in International Relations, Foreign Trade, Logistics or related field;
  • Previous experience in the role;
  • Advanced MS Office skills;
  • Intermediate English;
  • Knowledge of Incoterms, international freight, import documents and costing, and Power BI;
  • Experience in bulk operations and/or fertilizers will be considered a differential.
