About the role
- CUSTOMS CLEARANCE FOR RAW MATERIALS
- Review and analyze import documentation with the customs broker, exporter and trading company to ensure raw material (RM) clearance within expected deadlines.
- MARINE INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR IMPORT PROCESSES
- Send import documents to the insurer (proforma for provisional endorsement and Invoice and B/L for final endorsement) to guarantee insurance coverage for all shipments.
- MANAGEMENT OF IMPORT COSTS
- Prepare cost spreadsheets per import process and register the process in the system; verify and post invoices in the system and cost spreadsheets; schedule payments and perform financial control (send invoices and confirm postings with Finance) to ensure accurate information and values with the Finance department.
- MONITORING VESSEL TRANSIT TIMES
- Track vessel arrival and berthing dates via line-up to provide timely information to the departments involved.
- REPORTING
- Prepare reports extracted from the system or via Excel controls for departmental analysis.
- MANAGEMENT AND CONTROL OF ARMY SEALS FOR CONTROLLED PRODUCTS (NITRATE)
- Monitor the quantity of seals available with the customs broker, MIC (port representative), warehouses and the factory.
- MANAGEMENT AND CONTROL OF ENVELOPES AND EMERGENCY FORMS FOR CONTROLLED PRODUCTS (NITRATE)
- Monitor quantities of envelopes and emergency forms with MIC and send them when required for nitrate shipments.
- CONTROL FOR ISSUANCE OF LDIs (IMPORT LICENSES) FOR NITRATE
- Monitor nitrate purchases (a controlled product), which require prior shipment authorization for loading at origin.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, International Trade, Logistics or related fields
- Previous experience in the role
- Advanced MS Office skills
- Intermediate English
- Knowledge of Incoterms, international freight, import documentation and costs, and Power BI
- Experience with bulk operations and/or fertilizers is a plus
