About the role
- Establishment and strategic development of sales activities with major retail companies in the DACH region and across Europe
- Identify, qualify and develop enterprise accounts with a focus on long-term, partnership-based customer relationships
- Manage the entire sales cycle — from initial contact through proposal preparation (including RFI/RFP) to contract closure
- Work closely with management, PreSales, architecture, delivery and product teams to develop tailored solution concepts
- Deliver pitches, presentations and workshops at C-level
- Contribute to the development of sales strategy, market positioning and partner networks
- Use and maintain CRM systems to manage pipeline, forecasts and account strategies
Requirements
- More than 5 years' experience selling complex IT or software solutions to enterprise customers (ideally in retail or omnichannel environments)
- Solid understanding of retail processes (POS, checkout, payments, loyalty, ERP integration, omnichannel)
- Experience with tender processes (RFI/RFP) and decision-making structures in the enterprise segment
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills in German and English — confident at C-level
- High self-motivation, strong closing ability and strategic mindset
- Willingness to travel within Europe
- Basic technical understanding and ideally a degree in (business) informatics/computer science or a related field
- Knowledge of solution selling, value selling or strategic account management is a plus
- Existing contacts in the retail industry (e.g., grocery, fashion, DIY, consumer electronics) are a plus
