About the role
- **The Opportunity - **
- **The Human Resources Generalist manages the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to benefits administration, performance management, and employee relations. Key responsibilities involve coordinating hiring processes, ensuring compliance with labor laws, developing training programs, and fostering a positive work environment. **
- In this role you will:
- - Serve as front-line subject matter expert for both managers and employees for the respective departments assigned to support.
- - Plan, manage, and conduct portions of the employee onboarding and offboarding processes.
- - Lead recruitment activities for identified positions within assigned departments and other functional areas.
- - Oversee the activities of one of the Center’s employee resource groups.
- - Complete benefit enrollment process, assist with employee benefits inquiries, and participate in benefit renewal activities.
- - Facilitate and communicate organizational policies and programs and ensures labor law and regulatory compliance.
- - May evaluate, select, and oversee vendors that provide supplemental HR processes and services.
- - Direct tuition reimbursement and facilitate employee leave processes including FMLA, short-term disability, personal leave, etc.
- - Report and manage claims for job-related accidents/injuries; work with the Workers Compensation carrier, employee and management to facilitate the process.
- - Document, process, and ensure proper approvals for employee status changes and personnel action forms in timely and accurate fashion.
- - Collaborate with other HR department team members on talent development and compensation matters.
- - Participate in and/or directs departmental projects.
- - Establish and maintains personnel files as required by law.
- - All other duties, as assigned.
Requirements
- **EDUCATION:** Minimum bachelor’s degree in human resources, psychology, business or related field, required. Master’s degree in human resources, preferred.
- **EXPERIENCE**: Minimum 10 years of related experience, required. 5 years of healthcare experience, preferred.
- **ALTERNATIVE TO MINIMUM:** None
- **OTHER REQUIREMENTS: **PHR/SPHR/SHRM-CP or CEBS certification, preferred.
- *Knowledge:*
- - Strong knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws and regulations.
- - Strong knowledge of HR principles and practices.
- - Knowledge of computers and human resources software applications.
- - Strong knowledge of employee benefits.
- - Knowledge of various recruitment methods.
- - Knowledge of ADP, HealthStream, Workable, and Motivosity platforms, preferred.
- - Proficiency in Word and Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Excel.
- *Skills:*
- - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- - Skill in problem solving.
- - Strong attention to detail, including but not limited to the areas, of composition of materials, reporting, and project management, required. Project management experience.
- - Strong interpersonal customer service skills, required.
- *Abilities:*
- - Ability to establish/maintain effective relationships with staff at all levels.
- - Ability to project positive and professional image.
- - Ability to handle sensitive and confidential employee information in a professional manner.
- - Strong ability to change and adapt in a high-paced environment.
