About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead logistics, transportation, and fulfillment functions for efficient, compliant, cost-effective delivery operations
- Oversee team performance, operational execution, service quality, workforce management, and service goals
- Partner with pharmacy and operations leaders to align workflows and optimize fulfillment strategies
- Manage vendor relationships, shipping performance, compliance, issue resolution, and logistical operations
- Communicate operational updates, priorities, and expectations
- Oversee daily workflow, schedules, staffing assignments, and workload distribution
- Address performance and attendance concerns
- Coach, mentor, and develop team members
- Ensure pharmacy workflow processes comply with regulations and accreditation standards
- Resolve operational and pharmacy issues to limit patient or customer disruption
- Maintain patient records and delivery logs
- Provide reports to finance and leadership on delivery cost reduction strategies
- Create delivery routes and ensure driver training and vehicle maintenance
- Monitor delivery driver workload and progress-note and call analysis
- Follow up on delivery issues, track deliveries, and coordinate delivery exception retrieval and documentation
- Implement cross-training to support logistics and fulfillment coverage
- Manage shipment exceptions, investigate root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Track replacements and ensure accurate exception documentation
- Maintain technical knowledge of contracts, benefits, policies, procedures, and operational platforms
- Assist with pharmacy audits and support Patient Care Specialists and pharmacy and operations teams
- Apply conflict resolution to help patients understand policies and procedures
- Ensure HIPAA compliance with order preparation and shipping
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate degree required, or an additional two years of experience in lieu of the degree
- Four years of pharmacy technician experience in a high-volume pharmacy or logistics experience required
- One year of progressive leadership/management responsibility required
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional influencing skills
- Leadership skills including training, coaching, listening, and conflict management
- Problem-solving methodology for logistical problems and service schedules
- Ability to research and use novel platforms for problem solving
- Excellent analytical and process management skills
- Experience in a specialty pharmacy or mail order pharmacy preferred
