About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist pharmacy department activities under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist
- Maintain patient records
- Set up, package, and label medication doses
- Process equipment and supply orders
- Prepare sterile products
- Package and ship medications
- Set up and optimize delivery routes
- Maintain knowledge of pharmaceutical safety hazards and drug handling
- Notify pharmacists of dispensing, storage, packaging, and related issues
- Rotate stock, supplies, packaging materials, and shipping supplies
- Maintain cleanliness of registered and packaging spaces
- Follow standard written procedures and guidelines, with deviations approved by the supervising pharmacist
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or GED required
- One year of experience working in a high-volume pharmacy or equivalent setting required
- Ability to lift 40 lbs
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Aptitude for working with other health care professionals
- Must follow written pharmacy procedures and guidelines
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) preferred
- Experience with an online claims processing system preferred
- Immigration or work visa sponsorship will not be provided
