About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Support both the Actuarial Services and Underwriting departments.
Provide a full scope of actuarial and statistical analyses, on a project-specific basis.
Perform functions under the direct supervision of the Director of Actuarial Services & Underwriting.
Provide a full scope of underwriting risk analyses, for both renewal and new large group business.
Work with Finance to provide reports for various financial statement items.
Assist in the development and implementation of process improvements.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree required in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Sciences, or related field.
Completion of Fundamentals of Health Insurance (part A) desired.
Experience in Underwriting or a related business field preferred.
Completion of at least one Society of Actuaries exam preferred.
Prior business experience is preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated self-motivation and initiative, as well as an ability to perform under pressure.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize, multitask, and work in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient PC skills in a Windows environment.
Advanced knowledge of Excel, Access and other analytic or query tools preferred.
