About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support both the Actuarial Services and Underwriting departments.
- Provide a full scope of actuarial and statistical analyses, on a project-specific basis.
- Perform functions under the direct supervision of the Director of Actuarial Services & Underwriting.
- Provide a full scope of underwriting risk analyses, for both renewal and new large group business.
- Work with Finance to provide reports for various financial statement items.
- Assist in the development and implementation of process improvements.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree required in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Sciences, or related field.
- Completion of Fundamentals of Health Insurance (part A) desired.
- Experience in Underwriting or a related business field preferred.
- Completion of at least one Society of Actuaries exam preferred.
- Prior business experience is preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated self-motivation and initiative, as well as an ability to perform under pressure.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize, multitask, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient PC skills in a Windows environment.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel, Access and other analytic or query tools preferred.
