About the role

  • Technical Support with existing budget, settlement, contracts and business information systems daily operations.
  • Identify and perform gap analyses to recommend and establish enhancements to existing or new operational processes, procedures, and information systems.
  • Prepare presentations, summaries, databases and organizes information, as required.
  • Prepare reports of Demand Side Management data, including settlements, forecasts, contracts, procurements, contract milestones, and data in general, in addition to developing ad hoc reports.
  • Work with internal users to develop business requirements for enhancements to existing or new information systems.
  • Work with Information Technology (IT) to translate business requirements to IT specific requirements.
  • Develop use cases and test cases for use in user acceptance testing.
  • Develop user manuals and facilitate training sessions for solution enhancement releases or new product releases.
  • Support access to financial data from various information systems for the purposes of reporting and analyses.
  • Support budget management and settlement functions for the Demand Side Management division.
  • Support with processing invoices and payments through OnlineIESO and Market Settlements, as applicable.
  • Maintain budgets and settlements data as needed in the budget management tool.

Requirements

  • The education required to complete the duties and responsibilities of the position is typically acquired through high school and additional lengthy courses (2 - 3 years in duration) such as a 3 year information technology diploma or a finance background.
  • The minimum level of experience required to perform the job duties and responsibilities is 3 - 4 years including the period of adjustment on the job.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience with information system based projects.
  • Experience with customer based software tools and databases.
  • Has experience in preparing accurate written business correspondence that is coherent, grammatically correct, effective and professional.
  • Demonstration of excellent analytical, financial modeling (using excel/ VBA), problem solving and presentation skills – able to analyze raw data, draw conclusions and develop practical recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and follow through on multiple projects at the same time.
  • Self-motivated can do approach.
  • Exceptional tolerance for ambiguity and change.
  • Establishes effective working relationships.
  • Listens to others and accepts input from team members.
  • Customer Relationship Management (CRM) knowledge would be considered an asset.
