Key responsibilities & impact

Develop, implement, and maintain enterprise data governance policies, standards, and processes
Lead a small team to ensure data stewardship of data assets
Establish data classification, retention, access management, and usage policies
Drive adoption of governance best practices across data domains
Define and operationalize governance practices specific to Azure Databricks
Partner with Data Engineering to ensure governance controls are aligned
Define and maintain data quality rules, metrics, thresholds, and monitoring processes
Implement proactive measures to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data
Lead the adoption and utilization of metadata and cataloging tools
Ensure visibility into data assets, lineage, ownership, and usage
Promote data discoverability and literacy across the organization
Partner with Security, Privacy, and Legal teams to ensure compliance with standards
Identify gaps in data controls and manage remediation
Champion data governance as a repeatable practice
