Design, build, and maintain robust backend applications and RESTful APIs using Java and Spring Boot
Deploy, manage, and scale microservices on AWS using Docker and Kubernetes
Integrate production-grade LLMs such as Claude, OpenAI, or Gemini into backend workflows
Architect and manage SQL and NoSQL data layers for performance and scalability
Own features end-to-end through deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and production debugging
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on architecture, testing, and system reliability
Overlap consistently with Central Time teams during standard Austin business hours

Requirements

What you’ll need

4–7 years of hands-on experience building production backend applications at Software Engineer II level
Strong Java expertise with Spring Boot and REST API design
Hands-on experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases
Experience deploying and managing AWS services using Docker and Kubernetes
Practical experience integrating production-grade AI models/LLMs, such as Claude, OpenAI, or Gemini
Experience owning features through deployment, monitoring, and production debugging
Fluent English with excellent verbal and written communication skills
Consistent overlap with Central Time teams during standard Austin business hours
Nice-to-have: Saga pattern and Transactional Outbox experience
Nice-to-have: Kafka or RabbitMQ and event-driven architecture experience
Nice-to-have: Cucumber for BDD and automated testing
Nice-to-have: Experience building autonomous AI agents
