About the role

  • Manage projects within manufacturing operations and Supply Chain; prepare standard cost reports and determine manufacturing variances
  • Check bills of material for standard costs; assist with new product costing and cost roll
  • Assist with month-end close and reporting; prepare journal entries and enter inventory A/P accruals
  • Reconcile balance sheet and perpetual inventories to the general ledger; analyze variances
  • Track daily work items in D365 and investigate/report inventory adjustments
  • Assist Cost Director with annual budget process and annual physical inventories
  • Support internal customers by researching questions and investigating variances on the financial statements
  • Ensure proper retention, filing, and handling of accounting records; prepare reports and assist in special/ad-hoc projects
  • Interact on-site with manufacturing, supply chain and quality team members; perform cross-functional projects as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting required
  • 7+ years of either cost accounting experience or accounting experience in a manufacturing environment required
  • Experience working in Biotechnology or Pharmaceutical companies preferred
  • Experience managing projects and building relationships with other departments required
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment required
  • ERP experience required (Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred)
  • Must have cost accounting background or willingness to learn and a strong understanding of GAAP
  • Excellent communication skills; excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Ability to work independently
  • Innovative thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement
  • Strong organizational abilities and adept at managing multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously
  • Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment; lift/carry up to 20 pounds
  • Willingness to travel to headquarters in El Segundo, CA minimum quarterly
