About the role

  • Build and manage robust data pipelines and integrations for the business
  • Develop, own and deliver data solutions to meet company needs
  • Deliver multi-department projects and service data requirements across the business
  • Handle data in any format, perform data modelling and ETL processes
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications and solutions
  • Take ownership for delivering engineering tasks on time and to specifications
  • Act as a technical expert in the data engineering discipline and promote best practice
  • Ensure data quality and resolve data problems swiftly
  • Co-own the data platform, technology and CI/CD processes
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders and collaborate with product & technology teams
  • Foster skills, share knowledge and cross-train with peers and junior engineers
  • Strive for continual improvement and technical excellence

Requirements

  • Build and manage robust data pipelines and integrations
  • Develop and own data solutions to meet company needs

  • Be responsible for data quality and ensuring problems are resolved swiftly
  • Co-responsible for robust processes and technical best practice
  • Co-responsible for the data platform and technology
  • Foster skills, share knowledge and cross-train with peers and juniors
  • Extensive experience delivering data engineering projects
  • Advanced SQL skills
  • Advanced Python skills
  • Knowledge of Databricks
  • Experience with PySpark library
  • Experience with code control/Git
  • Experience managing CI/CD processes
  • DBT experience (advantageous)
  • Atlassian (Jira, Confluence) experience (advantageous)
  • Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform) experience (advantageous)
  • Comfortable handling data in any format, data modelling and ETL processes
  • Good communication skills and ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications
  • Delivery driven, self-motivated and capable of independent working
