About the role
- Work on Fabric, Immediate's digital publishing platform serving 60M+ monthly users
- Develop and test new user-facing features across multiple browsers, platforms, and devices
- Build reusable code, components and libraries for future use
- Optimise pages, code and assets for maximum speed and scalability against agreed performance budgets
- Use testing frameworks to ensure automated test coverage for platform functionality
- Collaborate with other team members and the Product Manager to plan new functionality or major enhancements
- Write and improve technical documentation when necessary
- Participate in all Agile planning meetings and stand-ups
- Report to the Senior UI Developer and support platform maintenance and legacy systems
Requirements
- HTML
- CSS/SASS
- Modern JavaScript
- React
- NextJS
- Good understanding of web standards, accessibility and performance
- Build tools (e.g., Webpack)
- Unit testing
- Git
- NPM/Yarn
- Desirable: PHP/WordPress
- Desirable: NodeJS
- Desirable: CSS methodologies (B.E.M etc)
- Desirable: AWS / Docker / Jenkins
