About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead budgeting, strategic planning, variance reporting, and ad-hoc analysis activities for a facility, region, division, or system-wide team
  • Complete routine, non-routine, and complex functions including operating budget, capital budget, strategic planning, patient accounts, and operations
  • Prepare financial analyses, variance reports, and ad-hoc reports
  • Develop quantitative reports with internal customers using data sources to analyze clinical and operational issues
  • Serve as technical expert and resource on financial systems and processes
  • Problem-solve and mentor other analysts
  • Collect data from Intermountain Healthcare data sources
  • Coordinate information gathering, process scheduling, and issue communication
  • Analyze financial trends and economic and business forecasts of reporting outcomes and variances
  • Create and maintain databases for collecting and tracking performance measurement data

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a business-related field preferred
  • Degree obtained through an accredited institution; education is verified
  • Demonstrated experience with budgeting and finance tracking responsibilities
  • Demonstrated project management skills, high degree of accuracy, and sound decision-making with limited supervision
  • Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, database, internet and e-mail, and scheduling applications
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Preferred: four years of professional experience conducting and evaluating routine financial analysis
  • Preferred alternative: master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or business-related field with two years of experience conducting and evaluating routine financial analysis
  • Knowledge of Intermountain Healthcare finances and financial processes preferred
  • Ability to see and read information, documents, monitors, equipment, and supplies
  • Ability to verbally communicate and hear and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
  • Manual dexterity to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
  • Frequent computer use for typing and accessing information
  • For driving-required roles, ability to drive a vehicle and read signs and traffic signals
