About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Schedule and pre-register patients for appointments, outpatient visits, procedures, and other department appointments
- Complete administrative work associated with scheduling appointments
- Transcribe external physician orders
- Handle high call volumes for multiple locations and departments
- Use multiple systems to perform scheduling functions
- Resolve technical issues independently with minimal assistance
- Provide patients with preparation and location information
- Collect and accurately input patient data
- Validate patient insurance and explain benefits as needed
- Manage phone calls, including answering, transferring, and conferencing between multiple parties
- Mentor new hires as needed
- Promote Intermountain Health’s mission, vision, and values and follow service behavior standards
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or equivalent OR four years of revenue cycle experience
- Minimum of two years of revenue cycle experience and/or two years of contact center experience
- Must pass the ALTA Language Services Qualified Bilingual Staff Assessment (QBS)
- Fluent in multiple languages
- Customer service etiquette
- Basic medical insurance knowledge
- Intermediate computer operating knowledge
- Multi-channel phone experience
- Typing speed of 30+ WPM
