About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and/or manage a portfolio of products for an assigned business segment across multiple states and market geographies
- Position assigned products to meet SelectHealth membership growth goals and NOI targets
- Ensure products meet market need, administrative efficiency, customer satisfaction, regulatory compliance, and financial performance standards
- Monitor key performance indicators for assigned product lines
- Implement initiatives that produce positive program outcomes
- Lead cross-functional teams to produce deliverables
- Interface with project managers, product teams, operational leads, sales teams, and other stakeholders
- Manage day-to-day operations related to the assigned product as the internal product expert
- Evaluate new product opportunities, geographic/service area expansion, new market entry, and strategic partnerships
- Introduce new products to market
- Monitor national carrier and local competitor products, positioning, strategies, networks, and industry trends
- Identify emerging market trends
- Use customer research and market/competitive intelligence to optimize product positioning
- Provide insurance market and product education to internal teams
- Manage relationships with vendors, partners, and affiliate contracts as applicable
Requirements
What you’ll need- Demonstrated experience in health care, health insurance, managed care, employee health benefits management, or self-insured plan administration, with progressive and varied responsibilities
- Demonstrated experience related to assigned products, including product development, product management, project management, service line management, network development, strategic planning, marketing, and/or business development
- Understanding of actuarial pricing models
- Understanding of underwriting practices
- Understanding of risk management, mitigation, and avoidance strategies
- Understanding of adverse selection
- Understanding of the full continuum of provider payment arrangements
- Understanding of multi-channel insurance product distribution
- Understanding of the impacts of these factors on product marketability and performance
- Experience driving organic growth through products and product initiatives
- Ability to recognize growth opportunities in revenue streams
- Deep understanding of insurance product analytics, its levers, and consumer behaviors needed to develop a strong-performing product
- Preferred: familiarity with derivatives, level funding, and/or the Affordable Care Act (ACA)
- Role may be hired at a different title/level depending on experience
- Must comply with applicable Intermountain policies and expectations, including confidentiality, information security, work schedules, conflicts of interest, and company equipment requirements for hybrid work
