About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provides ongoing support and coordination while acting as liaison between the Medical Staff and Administration.
  • Responsible for the on-going credentialing/privileging process and other administrative functions for the Medical Staff, Administration, Advance Practice Providers and Allied Health Professionals.
  • Coordinating the cyclical reappointment or temporary privileges process for the Medical Staff and allies.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
  • Maintaining and updating the Medical Staff database system.
  • Preparing appropriate Medical Staff directories and maintaining accurate and complete rosters of Medical Staff members.
  • Scheduling meetings and preparing/distributing agendas and minutes for the Medical Executive Committee, Credentialing Committee, and other major Medical Staff meetings.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Proven interpersonal, communication, customer service and organizational skills.
  • Experience with computers and software.
  • Ability to participate in high-level confidential interactions with diplomacy and tact.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in healthcare or as administrative assistant.
  • Certification by the National Association of Medical Staff Services (NAMSS) preferred.
  • Two years hospital and medical staff office experience preferred.
  • Experience with medical terminology preferred.
  • Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM) within five (5) years of employment preferred.
