About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee the accounting operations and internal control processes of Select Health
- Provide accounting assistance on various projects
- Provide monthly variance explanations to senior management of actual performance compared to the annual plan and quarterly reforecast
- Provide analysis and support for technical accounting areas
- Participate in job-related internal control initiatives
- Ensure financial accounting and reporting is in compliance with U.S. generally accepted accounting principles (U.S. GAAP)
- Maintain a strong system of internal controls
- Hire, train, develop and retain competent personnel
- Coordinate with internal and external audit teams.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master’s in accounting or business field
- Degree must be obtained through an accredited institution
- Demonstrated progressive accounting leadership experience in complex organization is required
- Healthcare experience preferred
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing high performing teams, projects, and budgets
- Experience in a role requiring demonstrated attention to detail with excellent organizational and analytical skills
- Flexible and adaptable to change
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
- Preferred qualifications include: licensed Certified Public Accountant
- Relevant financial reporting experience
- Ability to query and data mine using databases
- Working knowledge of Select Health's accounting information systems and financial processes
- Demonstrated ability to manage accounting operations effectively with overall accountability for department outcomes
- Experience with statutory accounting.
