About the role

  • Oversee the accounting operations and internal control processes of Select Health
  • Provide accounting assistance on various projects
  • Provide monthly variance explanations to senior management of actual performance compared to the annual plan and quarterly reforecast
  • Provide analysis and support for technical accounting areas
  • Participate in job-related internal control initiatives
  • Ensure financial accounting and reporting is in compliance with U.S. generally accepted accounting principles (U.S. GAAP)
  • Maintain a strong system of internal controls
  • Hire, train, develop and retain competent personnel
  • Coordinate with internal and external audit teams.

Requirements

  • Master’s in accounting or business field
  • Degree must be obtained through an accredited institution
  • Demonstrated progressive accounting leadership experience in complex organization is required
  • Healthcare experience preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing high performing teams, projects, and budgets
  • Experience in a role requiring demonstrated attention to detail with excellent organizational and analytical skills
  • Flexible and adaptable to change
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
  • Preferred qualifications include: licensed Certified Public Accountant
  • Relevant financial reporting experience
  • Ability to query and data mine using databases
  • Working knowledge of Select Health's accounting information systems and financial processes
  • Demonstrated ability to manage accounting operations effectively with overall accountability for department outcomes
  • Experience with statutory accounting.
