Director – Payroll Operations

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Directs the day-to-day operations of the payroll department
- Directs management team in managing staffing levels and productivity
- Directs and coordinates bi-weekly and calendar year-end processing of payroll including supplemental payrolls, W-2s, tax forms, and all additional required documentation per local and federal regulations
- Ensures payroll and tax filings are processed accurately and timely
- Partners with Human Resources (HR) to resolve HR and benefit issues related to payroll processing
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, human resources, or a related field is required
- Professional payroll or related human resources certification
- Demonstrated experience handling multi-state and high-volume payroll processing, including both exempt and non-exempt workforces is required
- Demonstrated experience leading a successful team
- Experience with tax filings for federal, state, and local agencies
