About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Accountable for the day to day accounting functions encompassing full cycle accounting and payroll
Overseeing processing and payment of vendor invoices
Reviewing bank reconciliations
Maintaining Chart of Accounts and General Ledger
Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
Reviewing payroll biweekly and being the resident payroll system expert
Liaise with Head Office and other locations regarding various finance matters
Accountable for timely preparation of monthly and annual financial statements
Preparation of all working papers to support financial statements, along with account analysis
Preparation of weekly short term cash flow analysis
Overseeing the preparation of all GST, PST, WCB, EHT etc. reports
Performing the year-end tax accrual estimate
Managing annual T1 program for employees
Work closely with Finance Director to respond to audit queries
Management and Training of AP Clerk and Payroll Administrator

Requirements

What you’ll need

Minimum 5 years work experience in a mid-senior level accounting role
Knowledge of the Visual Effects industry is an asset
CPA Designation
High level working knowledge of computerized accounting systems
Knowledge of SAP ByDesign is an asset
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Able to multi task and work in a fast paced environment, with timely results
