Industrial Designer

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design and prototype ergonomic wearable products in alignment with brand goals.
- Create sketches, 3D models, and high-quality renderings for product concepts.
- Translate design ideas into technically feasible formats, including CAD models and engineering-ready documentation.
- Research, select, and recommend optimal materials based on factors such as skin safety, durability, weight, comfort, and manufacturing compatibility for small-scale wearable items.
- Evaluate material properties to ensure product longevity, user comfort, and compliance with wellness standards.
- Recommend manufacturing techniques suited for chosen materials to achieve efficient production and high-quality finishes.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Strong portfolio demonstrating experience in industrial design for wearables, accessories, or compact lifestyle products.
- Deep understanding of ergonomics and human factors to ensure comfortable, wearable designs.
- Knowledge of materials suitable for wearable products—lightweight, durable, and skin-safe.
- Experience with design-for-manufacturing (DFM): creating product designs that are easy, cost-effective, and realistic to manufacture using real-world production methods.
- Awareness of current trends in wearable design and body-oriented product development.
- Ability to work independently and manage design deliverables in a freelance, remote setting.
