About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design and prototype ergonomic wearable products in alignment with brand goals.
Create sketches, 3D models, and high-quality renderings for product concepts.
Translate design ideas into technically feasible formats, including CAD models and engineering-ready documentation.
Research, select, and recommend optimal materials based on factors such as skin safety, durability, weight, comfort, and manufacturing compatibility for small-scale wearable items.
Evaluate material properties to ensure product longevity, user comfort, and compliance with wellness standards.
Recommend manufacturing techniques suited for chosen materials to achieve efficient production and high-quality finishes.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong portfolio demonstrating experience in industrial design for wearables, accessories, or compact lifestyle products.
Deep understanding of ergonomics and human factors to ensure comfortable, wearable designs.
Knowledge of materials suitable for wearable products—lightweight, durable, and skin-safe.
Experience with design-for-manufacturing (DFM): creating product designs that are easy, cost-effective, and realistic to manufacture using real-world production methods.
Awareness of current trends in wearable design and body-oriented product development.
Ability to work independently and manage design deliverables in a freelance, remote setting.
