About the role
- Create and maintain the narrative vision for the game, ensuring consistency across story, characters, and worldbuilding
- Write dialogues, character backstories, in-game events, flavor text, tooltips, achievements, and UI
- Develop fantasy-themed factions, races, and heroes with a twist of humor and meme culture
- Work closely with game designers to ensure mechanics and narrative reinforce one another
- Contribute to event-based storytelling (seasonal updates, meta-narratives, tournaments)
- Maintain tone balance: epic fantasy grounded in humor and relatability
- Participate in playtests to evaluate narrative impact on player engagement
- Collaborate with teammates and contribute to a supportive, trust-based team environment
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional experience in narrative design, game writing, or creative writing for games
- Strong knowledge of fantasy universes, tropes, and archetypes
- Demonstrated ability to write engaging, witty, and meme-infused content
- Experience writing for system-heavy genres such as card battlers, roguelites, or auto-battlers
- Strong collaboration skills; able to sync narrative with design, art, and gameplay
- Excellent command of English writing, editing, and storytelling
- Experience on projects similar to Hearthstone Battlegrounds, Teamfight Tactics, or Slay the Spire (nice to have)
- Familiarity with live-ops content creation (seasonal stories, events, quests) (nice to have)
- Passion for gaming communities, meme culture, and internet trends (nice to have)
- Knowledge of branching narrative systems or procedural storytelling (nice to have)
- Published works in fantasy fiction, comics, or tabletop RPGs (nice to have)
