About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

generate new business through proactive outbound prospecting, including cold calling
qualify inbound and outbound sales leads and progress them through to conversion
retain, grow, and expand existing accounts in close partnership with local account managers
represent Illumina to customers and advocate internally for customer needs
generate interest from new ‑ to ‑ Illumina customers using multiple sources
engage with customers via phone and email, with occasional field travel
apply in ‑ depth technical knowledge of Illumina products
stay current on industry trends, customer needs, and competitive positioning
act as an overlay partner to field account managers and sales specialists to support strategic initiatives
document all outbound activity and prepare sales activity, pipeline, and performance reports

Requirements

What you’ll need

knowledge of genomics, genotyping, gene expression, sequencing, or multi ‑ omics
strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence internal and external audiences
exceptional interpersonal skills and a collaborative working style
bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Science, Genetics, or a related field required
master’s or PhD in Genetics or a related discipline is a plus
strong understanding of relevant markets and sales opportunities
fluency in English required; additional European languages (Danish, Finnish, Norwegian, Swedish, or Dutch) are desirable but not essential
