About the role

Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models to forecast revenue and uncover new revenue opportunities across global markets.
Stay current with the latest AI/ML research and tools and be a thought leader in evaluating their applicability to Illumina’s commercial finance agenda
Build and operationalize novel AI products that improve the efficiency, accuracy, and strategic capabilities of the commercial finance organization.
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into scalable AI/ML solutions.
Construct robust data pipelines and model deployment frameworks in partnership with data engineering teams.
Apply advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to identify and prioritize high-value revenue opportunities, optimize commercial strategies, and support data-driven decision-making.
Continuously monitor model performance and retrain models as needed to ensure accuracy and relevance.

Ph.D. or Master’s in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
6+ years of experience in machine learning, data science, or AI engineering roles.
Proven experience building and deploying AI/ML solutions in a commercial or financial context.
Proficiency in Python, SQL, and ML libraries such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
Experience with time series forecasting, regression modeling, and classification techniques.
Experience working with large datasets and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across diverse business and technical teams.
