About the role

  • support EMEALA Medical Affairs team by driving key scientific collaborations and international consortia
  • work closely with Regional Medical Leads and cross‑functional partners across Legal, Compliance, Marketing, Market Access, and Clinical Research
  • ensure projects progress efficiently, compliantly, and with excellent visibility across internal teams
  • develop and maintain fully integrated project schedules and tracking tools
  • ensure accurate, cross‑functional project visibility and alignment
  • prepare status reports, asset updates, and scenario summaries
  • schedule and lead project meetings, including drafting agendas and minutes
  • track and escalate action items or risks to appropriate leaders
  • facilitate communication of sub‑team issues and outcomes to Regional and Clinical Research leadership
  • manage interfaces between functions and ensure seamless handoffs
  • lead an internal consortium core team, tracking progress across work packages
  • represent Illumina in consortium governance and project management calls
  • ensure timely, accurate, and compliant documentation of all activities

Requirements

  • experienced project manager
  • hands-on experience managing EU-funded projects
  • solid grasp of EU grant rules and processes
  • exceptional communication skills (spoken and written)
  • background in medical or scientific environments is highly beneficial
  • fluent in English and ideally proficient in an additional major European language (e.g., French, Spanish, German, or Italian)
  • strong technical skills in tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and project management platforms like Jira or Smartsheet
  • highly organised, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple fast-paced initiatives
