About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Operate and maintain biogas plants, including anaerobic dairy manure digesters, gas upgrading equipment, and ancillary equipment such as compressors, pumps, motors, valves, and instrumentation
  • Perform planned routine maintenance and unplanned repairs on above equipment
  • Documentation of work completed in logs, and drawings for all designated equipment
  • Conduct instrument calibration as scheduled/required
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose plant operation and equipment problems
  • Collect and analyze data to analyze digester health such as pH, TSS and biogas quality
  • Maintain a clean and presentable plant environment, take pride in your site
  • Adhere to safety regulations and procedures
  • Other tasks in support of IGS RNG operations as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate's degree in a related field, such as mechanical engineering, environmental engineering, or agricultural engineering, or related experience
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical and mechanical equipment maintenance on compressors, pumps, motors, valves, and instrumentation
  • 2+ years of experience in biogas plant operation and maintenance or wastewater facility operation and maintenance preferred
  • PLC programming experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of biogas production and conversion processes or willingness to learn
  • Excellent mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills with experience working with 24-480 V systems
  • Must be skilled in the use of hand and power tools
  • Must be able to work from blueprints, drawings, process and instrumentation diagrams, process flow diagrams and electrical wiring diagrams
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
  • Applicant must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
