About the role
- Oversee all financial and accounting functions including policy development and implementation, and financial system development and management
- Build and mentor Finance and Accounting team through the implementation of systems, processes, internal controls and policies
- Demonstrate strong financial stewardship and direct resource allocation
- Monitor company expenditures and help review and negotiate customer and vendor agreements
- Oversee internal and external Financial Reporting and set accounting policy
- Work with external international accounting firms on tax and compliance matters
- Help drive effective board meetings and manage communications with the Board of Directors and current and potential investors
- Present financial results to the Board with narrative on results, variances to plan, trends, and key metrics
- Implement processes, frameworks and systems to capture and utilize timely and accurate data for decision-making
- Provide support on operational tasks including P&L and financial projections, valuation models and company presentations
- Identify and address financial risks and opportunities
- Oversee M&A activities, risk management and insurance
- Coordinate and lead the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors
- Oversight of all commission plans across various countries
- Oversee rolling forecast process, treasury processes, budget adherence, internal controls, inventory management controls, labor management, tax strategy, and compliant reporting to local, state, and federal authorities
Requirements
- 10+ years of finance experience in a leadership position
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field required
- Advanced degree or CPA desired
- Experience operating as a Finance Director for a mid-sized SaaS company, with international business units
- Experience working in a senior finance position at an international SaaS company with complex financials and an extensive balance sheet
- Experience reporting financials to the board of directors and external M&A advisors and investors
- Strong financial and accounting background (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow management, budgeting)
- Experience with budget management, public accounting, and cash flow
- Experience with GAAP & IAS2005 standards
- Experience with sales tax calculations and filing in multiple jurisdictions
- International currency exchange risk mitigation experience
- Experience managing HR legal matters for a global company
- Proven negotiation skills and general legal knowledge (contracts and negotiations with customers, vendors, suppliers, employees)
- Strong technical analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure, plan personal workload effectively, and delegate
- Strong interpersonal relationship skills and desire to collaborate
- Entrepreneurial spirit and passion for building
- Ability to understand new issues quickly and make sound, timely decisions
