About the role
- Lead all aspects of AV and technical production, including staging, lighting, sound, video, and live streaming.
- Prepare and manage production budgets, ensuring cost control and adherence.
- Source, negotiate, and manage AV suppliers, production companies, stand builders, and technical personnel.
- Conduct site inspections and technical walkthroughs with venues and suppliers.
- Develop production schedules, technical briefs, and show flows.
- Oversee rehearsals, speaker technical requirements, and live show delivery.
- Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations, including preparation of risk assessments.
- Act as the on-site Health & Safety lead during build-up, event days, and breakdown.
- Manage event insurance requirements, including public liability, contractor insurance, and exhibitor compliance documentation.
- Oversee exhibition and expo areas, including floor plans, stand allocation, power, internet, and rigging requirements.
- Ensure safe and efficient build-up and breakdown processes.
- Proactively resolve technical and operational issues that may arise before or during events.
- Collaborate with senior management to enhance production quality and operational efficiency.
- Manage operational and administrative functions to ensure smooth event delivery.
- Analyse the success of production delivery and prepare post-event technical reports.
- Collaborate with other departments to optimise processes and suggest improvements where necessary.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the employer.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years’ proven experience in Event Production, AV management, or technical event delivery.
- Strong technical knowledge of AV systems, staging, lighting, sound, and live event production.
- Demonstrated experience managing Health & Safety compliance for live events.
- Experience handling event insurance documentation and contractor compliance.
- Strong budgeting and financial management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills with suppliers, venues, and stakeholders.
- Exceptional organisational and multitasking abilities.
- Proven ability to manage multiple large-scale projects simultaneously.
- Effective problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Leadership skills to manage production teams and collaborate with cross-functional departments.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and travel when required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Ability to adapt to changes and unexpected situations during live events.
