About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Define and deliver the next-generation mobile experience for aviation maintenance
Design and ship AI-powered product capabilities, including model integration, prompt engineering, RAG, agentic architectures, evaluation harnesses and MLOps
Use AI-assisted development and agentic tooling to improve engineering speed and quality
Embed with Aerospace & Defense customers to deploy, integrate and harden solutions in their environments
Connect IFS to ERP, CRM, IoT, telemetry, legacy and mission systems
Own solution architecture in real customer contexts and under real-world constraints
Design, develop, test, deploy and operate across the full stack
Own quality through automated testing and manage delivery through CI/CD
Ensure operational reliability across cloud, edge and mobile environments
Drive technical strategy across product groups and make architecture and shipping-quality decisions
Mentor engineers and strengthen the wider AI and forward-deployment practice
Represent IFS with customers and partners
Ground technical decisions in customer evidence and business value

Requirements

What you’ll need

Demonstrated, hands-on experience leveraging AI-assisted and agentic development tooling for building products
Experience shipping production AI capabilities using ML integration, prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), agentic architectures, evaluation and testing, and MLOps
Proven track record building and shipping production mobile applications
Native iOS development experience strongly preferred
Proven Principal-level impact as a recognised technical authority driving strategy and delivery across multiple teams or product groups
Substantial experience deploying, integrating and operating enterprise software directly in customer environments
Experience integrating with ERP, CRM, IoT and legacy systems
Strong foundations across design and development, quality and testing, cloud and DevOps, and security
Proficiency in modern general-purpose programming languages beyond any single domain framework
End-to-end ownership mindset and excellent communication with technical and non-technical audiences
Track record of growing the capability of engineers and teams
Experience in or with Aerospace & Defense organisations, or asset, maintenance, MRO or fleet-readiness management solutions is nice to have
Experience with enterprise asset management, field service or maintenance-management solutions is nice to have
Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience is nice to have
Experience with agile delivery and globally distributed teams is nice to have
