About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Partner with Environmental Health and Safety leaders and site teams across North America and Latin America to strengthen compliance, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct regular reviews of incident data, performance metrics, leading indicators, and training effectiveness to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead and support site-level incident investigations, corrective action planning, and root cause analysis activities.
  • Facilitate and oversee environmental, health, and safety audits, risk assessments, and program evaluations across the region.
  • Provide technical guidance and support related to environmental compliance, occupational health, workplace safety, process safety, and chemical management.
  • Collaborate with the Global Scent Environmental Health and Safety team to develop, implement, and share best practices, tools, training materials, and resources.
  • Support site teams in developing and executing environmental, health, and safety improvement plans that align with business and corporate objectives.
  • Partner with operations leadership to identify emerging risks, escalate concerns when appropriate, and drive sustainable solutions.
  • Maintain relevant environmental, health, and safety documentation while supporting consistent program implementation across the regional network.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field with at least 10 years of relevant professional experience; or a high school diploma with at least 15 years of directly related experience.
  • Experience leading or supporting environmental, health, and safety programs within manufacturing, industrial, or chemical processing environments.
  • Knowledge of occupational safety regulations, environmental regulations, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Minimum of 5 years of site-level manufacturing or industrial experience.
  • Experience conducting audits, inspections, risk assessments, and compliance evaluations.
  • Experience with International Organization for Standardization management systems, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.
  • Ability to analyze environmental, health, and safety performance metrics and develop improvement strategies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and collaborate effectively across multiple locations, functions, and leadership levels.
