About the role

  • Define and execute the global substance registration strategy aligned with IFF’s business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Build and develop a world-class team of regulatory professionals through coaching, mentoring, and succession planning.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration within the Global Regulatory Affairs organization.
  • Ensure full compliance of IFF’s scent ingredients and fragrances with global chemical inventories (e.g., REACH, TSCA, K-REACH, China IECSC etc.).
  • Leads key internal projects for Global Regulatory Affairs related to Substance Registration.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, Sustainability, Commercial etc.) to ensure alignment on regulatory priorities and business objectives.
  • Monitor emerging regulations and assess their impact on IFF’s portfolio; proactively develop mitigation strategies.
  • Represent IFF Global Regulatory Affairs in trade associations and customer meetings to influence policy and share industry insights.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior management on regulatory trends, risks, and opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Regulatory Affairs, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • Minimum 5–10 years of experience leading teams of regulatory professionals in a global organization.
  • Minimum 5–10 years of hands-on experience with global chemical regulations.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute regulatory strategies in a complex, multinational environment.
  • Excellent project management skills with a track record of delivering large-scale initiatives.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills; experienced in engaging with senior leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Knowledge of emerging regulatory areas such as Sustainability, PFAS restrictions, and other chemical-related legislation are a benefit.
