About the role
- Ensuring internal controls are operating correctly and efficiently for financial processes including ensuring procedures and policies are documented.
- Accounting policy documentation and quarterly horizon scanning for new updates.
- Tax accounting and documentation for direct and indirect taxes.
- Assist in preparation of various HMRC/ONS returns.
- Cover and support for other members of the Financial Control team as required.
- Assisting on any ad-hoc duties when required.
- Provide support for the preparation of Bank’s annual statutory accounts.
- Liaising with external auditors, tax advisors and other service providers.
- Providing necessary support for financial and regulatory reporting projects.
- Ad - hoc reports and projects – System implementation testing, reviewing accounting flow and account mapping.
- Assist in developing new procedures and controls of the finance function.
Requirements
- **1. **__**EDUCATION & TRAINING**__
- - Part qualified accountant with minimum 2 years’ experience
- - Good A Level and GCSE Level grades

- - Experience in an accounting role in Banking/Financial Services preferred
- - High level competence and proficiency in Excel skills, use of spreadsheet for analysis and accounting software programs.
- - Good written skills, some experience in documenting processes.
- - Good analytical skills and high level of numeracy.
- - Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- - Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- - Good Interpersonal / communication skills.
