About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Partner closely with Field Sales and Customer Support to develop strategies that maintain and grow customer accounts
  • Build customer relationships, solve problems, and support customer success in the field
  • Visit customers daily and adjust schedules to support customer events and emergency practices
  • Install IDEXX Diagnostic Imaging Systems for customers
  • Train veterinary clinic staff on best practices to maximize system performance
  • Support critical customer visits with onsite technical troubleshooting
  • Plan and strategize customer visits using multiple programs
  • Serve as an IDEXX ambassador and trusted customer advisor
  • Manage schedules according to customer needs while focusing on professional development and growth
  • Travel by air and car within the assigned territory and occasionally outside it

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Residency in the East Ohio Valley & Pittsburgh regions, preferably the Cleveland or Pittsburgh area
  • Willingness to travel within and occasionally outside the assigned territory
  • Ability to build and maintain customer relationships
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Planning and prioritization skills
  • Effective listening skills and ability to adapt approach to different situations
  • Comfort learning and using computers, tablets, and smartphones
  • Computer networking experience is a plus
  • Ability to extend, reach, manipulate objects, controls, and tools
  • Ability to occasionally climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, or crouch
  • Ability to lift, move, and carry up to 60 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities including close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
  • Hearing acuity sufficient for telephone and in-person communication
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to travel, drive for extended periods, work within the assigned area, and work with or have contact with animals
  • 3+ years of veterinary clinic experience with a training and/or leadership background, and/or Practice Manager experience strongly preferred
