About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • You interpret laboratory results across a range of diagnostic areas to provide clear, cohesive insights
  • You may perform post-mortem examinations on production animals
  • You undertake histopathology and/or cytopathology on submitted samples from all species
  • You work closely with production animal veterinarians, providing specialist guidance and support
  • You connect findings across clinical pathology, serology, parasitology and other data sources
  • You contribute to a more integrated diagnostic approach within the large animal space
  • You engage with the local veterinary and farming community in a meaningful and practical way

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • You have qualifications in veterinary pathology or a related field with strong experience in large animal pathology
  • You bring experience across multiple diagnostic disciplines (e.g. anatomic/clinical pathology, parasitology, serology, microbiology and molecular biology)
  • You’re comfortable interpreting and correlating complex data sets to form clear conclusions
  • You have hands-on experience conducting post-mortems
  • You have a strong working knowledge of New Zealand pastoral farming systems
  • You are based in New Zealand and understand the local industry landscape
  • You have working rights in NZ as a veterinarian
  • You’re confident engaging directly with veterinarians and building trusted relationships
  • You’re adaptable and enjoy working across a broad and varied scope
