About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Managing and analyzing the financial performance of national and international solar tracker projects across the entire project lifecycle
Preparing and enhancing project and management reports, KPI dashboards, and regular actual-vs.-budget comparisons for management and project teams
Monitoring project budgets, cost developments, forecasts and margins — ensuring ongoing financial transparency
Identifying and assessing variances, risks and opportunities, and deriving concrete actions together with the relevant departments
Supporting budget and forecast processes in close coordination with project management, supply chain, procurement and sales
Preparing and evaluating business cases, profitability analyses and financial models for projects, proposals and new business opportunities
Occasional handling of classic corporate controlling tasks (e.g., participation in month-end and quarter-end closings, cross-sectional analyses) — in our team we pitch in beyond our core area of responsibility
Further developing controlling and reporting processes and helping shape efficient management tools in the project environment

Requirements

What you’ll need

Degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or a comparable commercial qualification; further training in controlling preferred (e.g., IHK Controller)
Several years' professional experience in controlling, ideally in project or FP&A environments of project-driven industrial or technology companies
Practical experience in the financial management of projects: budget planning, forecasting, actual-vs.-budget and variance analyses; experience in classic corporate controlling (e.g., financial closings) is an advantage
Confident use of ERP, BI and controlling tools for independent KPI preparation, analysis and report creation
Excellent skills in analyzing financial metrics and trends, with the ability to separate data from interpretation and to derive required actions
Experience in cross-functional coordination with internal project teams
Excellent written and spoken German and English for collaboration in international project and finance teams
Structured, prioritizing and results-oriented working style with the ability to reliably manage multiple topics in parallel
Decisiveness within own area of responsibility, and high reliability and integrity when handling sensitive financial and project data
