About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- A Security Guard is responsible for monitoring the assigned specific area, ensuring proper identification, evicting trespassers and writing reports detailing any occurrences during their shift.
- Monitoring activities in assigned location on the company’s premises regularly to discourage criminals and ensure the environment is safe and secure.
- Evicting trespassers and violators and detaining perpetrators while following legal protocols before relevant authorities arrive to take over.
- Controlling the entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and vehicles according to protocols.
- Providing detailed reports on daily activities and any incidents that may have occurred to management.
- Using provided communication devices such as two-way radios in a clear and concise manner.
- Performing CPR or first aid when needed.
- Any other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Have current TWIC card certification (required).
- Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat.
- Prolonged periods of standing or sitting.
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds at times.
- Ability to communicate in English to our associates and guests.
- Ability to read, write and count to accurately complete all documentation.
- Must have or must be willing to obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid certification.
- Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present.
- Ability to work in an unheated building.
- Willing to live in a remote, rural community.
- Comfortable traveling by small plane or ferry to and from a remote setting.
- Able to walk and/or drive on gravel roads in inclement weather.
