About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Identify and quantify Workers’ Compensation, Commercial Property, and/or Liability risks for policyholder accounts
  • Develop risk identification and quantification approaches for the organization’s book of business
  • Conduct research and accident investigations with internal stakeholders
  • Schedule company surveys and account service plans
  • Initiate and implement complex corrective action recommendations and formal service plans
  • Collaborate with underwriting and claims teams on large account service proposals
  • Deliver risk management services to customers to mitigate risk, identify exposures, and reduce claim costs
  • Assess business operations risks and analyze company financial data
  • Recommend methods to control or reduce identified risks
  • Prepare financial documents, reports, and data models documenting key risks
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on industry knowledge, regulations, and risk management
  • Provide client training on risk identification, quantification, and control
  • Facilitate OSHA, NFPA, CPSC, and third-party liability prevention program training
  • Consult with clients on exposure, market scenarios, and value-at-risk calculations
  • Advise underwriting on Workers’ Compensation and Commercial Package Insurance lines
  • Review financial literature and statistical techniques to provide current risk management services

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university with a major or emphasis in Business Administration, Risk Management, STEM, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience in Risk Management, Safety, or related field required
  • Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), CPE, or Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) preferred
  • Valid, current driver’s license required
  • Working knowledge of risk management policies, practices, and methodologies
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Superior organizational and time management skills
  • Intermediate to advanced consulting capability and understanding of risk management concepts
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical information, codes, and regulations
  • Technical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Ability to establish credibility and rapport quickly
  • Insurance industry knowledge
  • Experience working in a collaborative environment
  • Critical thinking and influencing skills
  • Ability to negotiate change to achieve optimal outcomes
