About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead, train, and develop a motivated team of Underwriting Assistants
Ensure accurate and timely policy processing and underwriting support activities
Monitor the quality and quantity of work for the unit
Provide technical coaching regarding policy forms and underwriting requirements
Develop and lead a cohesive team that promotes exceptional customer service
Serve as the primary escalation point for agents, brokers, and internal partners regarding underwriting support

Requirements

What you’ll need

High school diploma or GED required
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Insurance, or a related field preferred
Minimum 5 years of insurance industry experience required
At least 3 years of experience in underwriting support, underwriting operations, or a related role required
Workers' Compensation insurance experience required
Minimum 1 year of lead, supervisory, or people leadership experience preferred
Strong knowledge of underwriting support operations, policy administration, and account management practices
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and insurance administration systems required
Associate in Insurance (AINS) and Associate in Underwriting (AU) preferred
