About the role
- Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Integrate third-party services, EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner), and secure health data exchanges.
- Implement security and compliance protocols aligned with healthcare standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (front-end developers, DevOps, QA engineers) to support front-end integrations and data pipelines.
- Ensure system reliability, test coverage, and maintainability.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, HITECH, and healthcare data privacy standards.
- Actively participate in code reviews, system audits, and agile sprint planning.
- Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and refine infrastructure, working closely with DevOps Engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Health Informatics, Information Systems, or related field.
- 3+ years of back-end development experience in healthcare, life sciences tech or regulated industries.
- Solid understanding of API design, system architecture, and relational/noSQL databases.
- Proficient in one or more server-side languages.
- Strong knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and CI/CD workflows.
- Understanding of healthcare data formats (FHIR, HL7) is a plus.
- Knowledge of DevOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform).
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
