About the role
- Coordinate ongoing review and interpretation of emerging Medicaid policies across the firm.
- Promote knowledge sharing and knowledge management of Federal policy and program guidance across national Medicaid finance teams by creating and facilitating firmwide discussion forums, collaborating with policy leads, Legal, Marketing, and SMEs to lead development of internal and external references/tools.
- Collaborate with Quality Team to coordinate information sharing, policy interpretation and tool development to support firmwide efforts and promote client adoption of value-based models.
- Lead and coordinate innovations in Medicaid financing offerings, including research and emerging financing approaches to serve new markets.
- Compile research, engage with SMEs, and facilitate idea development in emerging areas of opportunity, including GME/workforce-related initiatives.
- Coordinate and lead development of strategies that respond to market trends and generate business ideas to enhance the Firm’s Medicaid financing services and products.
- Deliver subject matter expertise, consulting and strategic services on multiple projects, clients and engagements; facilitate solution development; assist with proposal development, and support client presentations.
- Provide thought leadership on firmwide projects leveraging policy, industry, and financial expertise in areas such as Medicaid financing and revenue maximization, health equity/SDOH initiatives, Medicaid managed care, value-based payment, etc.
- Participate in the recruitment, development, utilization, and retention of staff; provide mentoring; manage performance feedback, training and professional development opportunities.
- Track legislative and other policy initiatives occurring in the market and represent the firm at stakeholder events and conferences.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, Public Health, Health Administration, business, or economics is required.
- Advanced degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, Public Health, Health Administration, business, economics or MBA preferred.
- Fifteen (15) or more combined years in a public healthcare policy management role and/or in the healthcare consulting industry; advanced degree preferred or additional relevant experience in lieu of such advanced degree preferred.
- Executive or Administrator experience in leading teams to design, execute and implement significant changes within state Medicaid programs is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to relay complex technical terms in an easy-to-understand manner.
- Ability to interact professionally with clients and other outside audiences.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required; experience interpreting and communicating about Medicaid policy is highly desirable.
- Ability to work effectively independently and in teams.
- Experience delivering services on several projects simultaneously.
- Time management skills.
