About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Utilize active, effective supervision of people including direct oversite of Production Operators and Production Utility personnel.
- Ensure effective utilization of equipment; short interval control; root cause analysis; and other best in class techniques, to attain the production plan goal(s).
- Ensure that equipment is run per standard set by collaboration with Plant Services-Maintenance group.
- Accountable for performance to KPI's (Key Performance Indicators)- percent overtime worked by Process Operators.
- Approve production Process Operator overtime work.
- Ensure the accuracy of the Process Operator hourly payroll reports submitted to Accounting Department’s payroll.
- Plan; delegate; and control work assignments and special projects for Process Operators that are direct reports.
- Maintain appropriate daily staffing level, documenting attendance and vacation plan coverage.
- Manage workforce performance and document employee attendance and performance issues.
- Ensure work area remains clean and address any housekeeping issues.
- Establish specific work goals; quantitative; and qualitative standards for Process Operators.
- Assess training needs and produce a training plan for each individual.
- Manufacture to the plant production plan.
- Ensure accuracy of daily reports.
- Ensure completion of work permits, coordinating with maintenance to achieve maintenance plan.
- Operate production equipment to meet manufacturing goals and support maintenance.
- Perform SIC (short interval control) to support Production Department KPI’s.
- Active coaching of Process Operators towards conducting root cause analysis on equipment prior to notifying maintenance of a problem.
- Ensure required safety self-inspections are completed.
- Enter daily plant production data into SAP computer program.
- Collect and store the production product run sheets per legal requirements for Production area Unit Two.
- Perform duties of site management leader(s) during evening and week-end work coverage hours.
- Perform duties of Emergency Management- Incident Command (IC) on evenings and week-end coverage times.
- Ensure adherence to plant safety rules, inclusive of PPE use and other company policy.
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or GED required
- 3 – 5 years relevant experience in chemical manufacturing as a Production Supervisor, Production Lead or a Process Operator.
- Prior experience in a supervisory role.
- Must be able to work under in an intense pressure environment.
- Computer skills - Prior experience utilizing Microsoft Office, Outlook, and an ERP system preferably SAP.
- Experience working within an industrial manufacturing environment with experience managing production schedules, maintenance exposure, and operational analysis.
