About the role
- Plan, design, and execute data migration strategies from legacy systems to new platforms (on-premise, cloud, or hybrid).
- Work closely with government stakeholders, project managers, database administrators, and developers to ensure successful data transitions.
- Analyze legacy data structures and perform data mapping and transformation based on target system requirements.
- Develop and implement data validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance processes.
- Create detailed migration documentation, including data flow diagrams, data dictionaries, and test plans.
- Troubleshoot migration issues and ensure minimal disruption to business operations.
- Comply with government data security standards, compliance frameworks (e.g., FISMA, NIST), and privacy regulations.
- Provide status reports, progress updates, and support post-migration activities including audits and validations.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship or a Green Card is required due to federal contract requirements
- Candidate must reside in the U.S., be authorized to work in the U.S., and all work must be performed in the U.S.
- Candidate must have lived in the U.S. for three (3) full years out of the last five (5) years.
- Candidate must currently have or be able to obtain a public trust clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- 8+ years of experience, leading 3+ enterprise migrations across ≥ 3 data sources, with financial reconciliation, metadata/lineage tooling, and privacy/records experience.
